Inspired by the wonder of Archer Paul

“Yaya, the ice
is melting!”

An ice cube fell from a glass onto the table. A little boy looked at it as if for the very first time… and reminded us what matters: we need to be amazed by the basics.

Why we exist

We need to be amazed by the basics.

Why does it rain? Why do we laugh? Why does ice float? We answer everyday questions with clear, beautiful science…

…and every why carries a virtue to take with you: gratitude, patience, care, hope. Because understanding the world and learning to live well have always been the same adventure.

  • 1new why every week
  • 1virtue in every why
  • 2languages

How it works

The anatomy of a why

Every video, about two minutes long, follows the same path. Here it is with Archer's ice cube.

  1. The question

    Why does ice melt?

  2. The science

Heat flows from warm to cold. The molecules jiggle faster and faster… and at 0 °C the hexagons break apart.

  3. The extra wow

While it melts, ice stays at 0 °C: it spends all the heat breaking its hexagons. That's why the little puddle is so cold.

  4. The virtue

Wonder: looking at everyday things as if for the very first time. Little ones teach us how.

  5. Think and talk

What small thing from today would amaze us… if we looked at it through a child's eyes?

The virtue behind the why

Every question holds a lesson for life

A constellation that grows with every new why.

Short form

A minute of wonder, in your pocket

Shorts, TikTok and Reels: science in vertical, made to share with family or friends in a single message.

Use it, share it, spread it

Bring wonder to your school, your community and your table.

All materials are free. We only ask one thing: that after every video, someone stays to talk.

In your school

One why a week to open science, values or character class. Play the video, ask the questions and leave the virtue on the board.

  • Teacher sheet with the science in 3 lines
  • Questions by age: kids, teens, adults
  • A simple experiment for the classroom

In your community

Parishes, youth groups, catechesis, retreats, senior homes and book clubs: two minutes of video are enough for an hour of conversation.

  • A 20-minute group activity script
  • The virtue connected to faith
  • Bilingual materials for Hispanic communities

At home

Grandparents, parents and kids facing the same question. Each video ends with a “think and talk” question made for the dinner table.

  • The question of the week for the dinner table
  • Wonder challenges to go out and look
  • Made to do together, at any age

The “One why a week” guide

25 printable sheets: the question, the science in simple words, the virtue, questions for every age and an activity. A full school year.

Share your wonder

What did a child ask you today?

The ice video was born from Archer's wonder. The next one could be born from a question you hear: tell us the why you heard at home, in class or in your community.

Who we are

A small project with a big question

Wonder & Virtue was born from an everyday moment: an ice cube, a little boy and his grandmother. Since then we make bilingual videos that answer everyday questions with clear, beautiful science, and a virtue to take with you.

  • Rigorous science, told simply. Every why is researched and reviewed before it's filmed.
  • A virtue in every why. Understanding the world and learning to live well go hand in hand.
  • Open to everyone. For schools, communities and families, in English and Spanish.
